- Ensuring consistent testing and certification procedures
- Not allowing removable markings
- Only using FIG approved hand apparatuses at FIG sanctioned events

For other competitions, please check with the competition organizer about the regulation.
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation, including ribbons, balls, hoops, and clubs.
Rhythmic gymnastics can improve flexibility, coordination, strength, balance, and body awareness, as well as develop grace, expression, and creativity.
Rhythmic gymnastics is open to individuals of all ages, and can be enjoyed by anyone looking to improve their physical and artistic skills.
Becoming a rhythmic gymnast requires consistent training, starting with basic techniques and gradually advancing to more complex skills. This typically involves working with a coach, practicing regularly, and participating in competitions.
Rhythmic gymnastics is scored based on technical elements, such as apparatus handling, body posture, and coordination, as well as artistic elements, such as expression, musicality, and presentation. Judges award points according to the FIG Code of Points, and the gymnast with the highest score in her category and per apparatus wins.
You can search for rhythmic gymnastics clubs in your area by using online resources, such as local directories and social media, or by contacting your national gymnastics federation.

Proper care and maintenance of your Sasaki Half-Shoes 147 - Skin Blending Color can help prolong their lifespan and ensure they remain in good condition. Here are some tips for caring for your shoes:
-
Clean your shoes regularly - after each use, wipe down your shoes with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or sweat.
-
Avoid washing your shoes - Do not machine wash or submerge your shoes in water, as this can damage the material and cause them to lose their shape.
-
Air dry your shoes - After wiping down your shoes, leave them to air dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat.
-
Store your shoes properly - Keep your shoes in a special pouch when not in use. Avoid storing them in a damp or humid, as this can lead to mold growth or deterioration of the material.
-
Avoid wearing your shoes outside - Sasaki Half-Shoes 147 are designed for indoor use only. Wearing them outside can damage the material and cause the sole to become dirty and lose traction.
By following these care tips, you can help extend the life of your Sasaki Half-Shoes 147 - Skin Blending Color and keep them in top condition for your next performance.
As a dedicated rhythmic gymnast, it's important to properly care for and maintain your apparatus, especially your rhythmic gymnastics ball. In this blog post, we will provide you with essential tips and recommendations to ensure your ball remains in excellent condition and performs optimally during your training sessions and performances.
-
Sanitizing Apparatus: We have recently discovered that using alcohol-based sanitizers on the surface of your rhythmic gymnastics ball can cause the coat to peel. To avoid this issue, we kindly request that you refrain from using alcohol-based sanitizers on your ball. Instead, we recommend disinfecting the apparatus with non-alcohol sanitizers or diluted neutral detergents. This will help maintain the ball's appearance and performance over time.
-
Special Ball Carrier: To protect your rhythmic gymnastics ball from any potential damage, we offer a specially designed ball carrier. This carrier is made from a cloth material that is gentle on the surface of the ball, preventing color transfer and preserving its vibrant appearance. We highly recommend using this ball carrier to store and transport your apparatus safely.
-
Special Rhythmic Gymnastics Ball Pump: When inflating your rhythmic gymnastics ball, it is crucial to use a specialized pump that is designed specifically for this purpose. Regular pumps may have different needle sizes, which can damage the ball's valve or lead to improper inflation. To ensure proper care, we recommend using our specially designed rhythmic gymnastics ball pump to maintain the longevity and functionality of your apparatus.
-
Cleaning Cloth: To keep your rhythmic gymnastics ball looking its best, we provide a specially designed cleaning cloth. This cloth is specifically created to avoid scratches or abrasions on the ball's surface when wiping it clean. By using this cleaning cloth, you can ensure that your apparatus remains in pristine condition, allowing you to perform at your best during training and competitions.
-
Always store your ball inflated. Be sure that your ball has air enough to keep a spherical shape. Storing your ball deflated may cause cracks and peel off of the special glossy coating.
-
When traveling, deflate your ball no more than 20% to compensate for any air pressure changes during a flight, and take it with you in your carryon bag. Don´t store it in your luggage.
Here are some tips to take good care of your rhythmic gymnastics ribbon:
- Do not wash, as rayon shrinks when washed.
- Always keep your ribbon wrapped to a cylinder. Ribbon cases or Stick and Ribbon holders are highly recommended.
- Do not press the iron directly to the ribbon FIG and manufacturer marks at both ends of the ribbon might come off. When ironing a ribbon, always use iron paper or damp cloth at 140 to 160 degrees C (284 to 320 degrees F) if needed.
Here are some tips to take good care of your rhythmic gymnastics ribbon stick:
- The tip (rotor) is a tiny but very important part of the stick. Put 1 or 2 drops of oil around the moving parts of the axle. Please maintain after lessons or before competitions.
- Keep your stick safely stored in its stick case.
The correct size of a rhythmic gymnastics hoop depends on the height of the gymnast. As a general rule, the hoop should reach the gymnast's hip bone when standing. It's recommended to try different sizes to determine the best fit. Additionally, gymnasts may prefer a slightly smaller or larger hoop depending on their personal style and the type of routine they are performing.
The largest hoop in Rhythmic Gymnastics is 89 - 90 cm in diameter.
A helpful suggestion for choosing the correct rhythmic gymnastics club size could be based on the gymnast's age and arm length.
For gymnasts aged 3 to 7 years old, a club size of 36 centimeters is suitable.
For gymnasts aged 8 to 11 years old, a club size of 40 to 41 centimeters would work.
And for gymnasts over 11 years old, a club size of 44 to 45 centimeters is appropriate.
However, it's important to keep in mind that the size ultimately depends on the length of the arm. To determine the correct size, hold the club in your hand and extend it along your arm. The club should reach the middle of your shoulder.
Pump air into your ball until you cannot squeeze it.
Let it rest for 24 hours and repeat the process.
Let it rest for 2 days and pump more air if needed.
A recommended ball size for rhythmic gymnastics is:
15 cm for gymnasts aged 3 to 6 years
17 cm for gymnasts aged 7 to 10 years
18.5 cm for gymnasts over 11 years
However, it is important to consider the gymnast's height, hand size, and skill level for a more accurate selection.
